Much to Tyler's relief, Jackie is able to take the Alpha Key from him, proving that she's human once more, and they express their love for each other. Tyler apparently agrees, but as he hugs Jackie, Tyler stabs her in the back with the Alpha Key, killing the demon and freeing Jackie. Tyler follows Jackie into the nearby woods, where the demon tries to entice Tyler into letting her in to himself, recalling Tyler and Jackie's happy moments together. Tyler and Duncan follow Jackie from her house to the cliffside home that Gabe is using, where Tyler witnesses Jackie giving Gabe the Demon Key after presumably using it to help expand his army. With the help of Duncan, Tyler successfully creates the Alpha Key. Tyler narrowly manages to escape and becomes determined to save his girlfriend by crafting a new key that will "unlock" the demon from her soul. Losing Her Memory Īs part of a trap for the Lockes, Dodge uses the Demon Key to have Jackie possessed by a demon. The two eventually reconcile when Jackie helps the Locke Children dispose of Dodge's body through the Black Door. The two do not talk for several days after. When Tyler doesn't attend the 5K, Jackie is furious, and she calls the relationship between the two - and the friendship - quits. His efforts are futile, however, and Jackie reveals that she isn't into the wars, but Jane Austen she remarks that she doesn't expect Tyler to be into that kind of stuff, which seems to offend him. Tyler, wanting to impress Jackie, later uses the Head Key to insert knowledge about the wars into his head. Ridgeway, he grows closer with Jackie, and the two begin talking. When Tyler is signed up for the 5K run by Mr. Despite Tyler never setting the record straight, the two are still friends. Jackie is initially just friends with Tyler, but is best friends with Eden Hawkins. This plan failed, but Sam later successfully guided Kinsey Locke to a harness hidden in a chimney that could help her in a fight against Dodge.Biography Relationship with Tyler Not wanting to let Dodge succeed, Chamberlain purposely gave him misleading instructions for crafting a new key while Sam attempted to take over Gabe's body and leave Dodge's soul floating around Keyhouse grounds. In an attempt to get back at Dodge (now posing as Gabe) for the betrayal, Sam's ghost learned about his current plans in the Locke family cemetery with Chamberlain. This angered Sam to the point of threatening her, though she fatally wounded him instead. Once Dodge got what she needed, she had no more use for Sam and betrayed him. When Dodge needed to shake up the Locke family again to retrieve a key that she needed, she helped Sam escape prison and get to Matheson to terrorize them. Sam went to prison in Seattle for the murder and the Lockes moved to Matheson, Massachusetts to restart their lives and also to understand the circumstances of Rendell's death. This triggered some of Sam's BPD symptoms (in this case, emotional instability), which Dodge counted on to leave him vulnerable to manipulation. This made Sam question the sincerity of Tyler's friendship and especially Rendell's willingness to help him. In reading his own file, Sam learned that Rendell had listed him as developing symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder and that he purposely asked Tyler to befriend Sam in an attempt to mitigate his fully developing the disorder in adulthood.
